Our classes

First Discovery Combo

The First Discovery class focuses on creating a positive first learning experience for children.  Thematic units center on basic concepts such as colors, shapes, and numbers, as well as an introduction to the alphabet and phonics.  This class also focuses on socialization skills such as listening, sharing, following directions, and problem solving skills.  The curriculum encourages growth and development in fine and gross motor skills, social/emotional awareness, and basic concepts of writing, math, science, social studies, and art. Children also participate in Music and Spanish classes each week.  All children must be fully potty trained and be 3-years-old by September 30, 2025.

Explorers 

The Explorers class focuses on preparing children for Kindergarten or our Young Learners program.  This class follows the OWL curriculum developed by Pearson Publishing and  Zoo-phonics.  Thematic units are used to introduce concepts such as math, science, literacy, writing skills, art, and social studies.  Children will engage in hands-on learning activities which focus on letter recognition and sounds, pre-reading and pre-writing skills, counting, and number recognition.  Each week children also participate in Music and Spanish classes. Fine and gross motor skills are continuously integrated in all lessons plans, as are social and emotional development skills such as sharing, listening, and problem solving activities.  All children must be 4-years-old by September 1, 2025 to enroll in the Explorers /Navigators class.

Young Learners (Waitlisted)

The Young Learners class is designed for children who may miss the Kindergarten age cutoff or might benefit from an extra year of preschool. This class follows the Big Math for Little Kids curriculum, as well as, the ZOO Phonics curriculum for language and literacy development.  Theme based learning units focus on beginning math skills, language and literacy skills, art, social studies, and science through the use of hands-on learning activities. Once a week children also attend Music and Spanish classes.  All children must be 5-years-old by December 31, 2025 to enroll in the Young Learners class.
